Imagine yourself sitting at your desk at the school you go/went to... Feel the smell, the energy of the other students, your teachers, the walls, the halls... What do you feel? What are your motives for being here? Would it be any point of being here if you weren’t graded, if someone didn’t tell you how you are doing?
In your mind, go to your after school activities, organized or not. Feel into it. Do you feel joy? And if you do, why do you feel that? Is it the social aspect? Being included? Is it the progression? Is it the competition? If so, why does it feel good to win?
I guess I don’t even have to line it out getting to our careers and work.
Whatever it is that you’re pursuing,
when you get to this goal, was the energy invested worth it? If you feel it was, why was it worth it? Was the journey fun? Did you learn things that are important to you? Did you feel happy and fulfilled underway? And now? Are you happy you spent so much time doing this? What emotions arise when you reflect upon these things?
At this point, you may feel a bit provoked by my words, that’s okay.
My point is only that money, time and focus are all the same things, it is energy in different forms. And where you choose to spend it is basically what you give value in your life.
Let’s look further into a very touchy subject.
If you have health issues, physical or phsycological, do you take different kinds of medicine just because your doctors tell you to? How do you feel about that? What if they’re wrong? Or what if they’re simply not that invested in your health to care that much, they have so many to serve and don’t really have time og interest in asking questions to well established truths. But are you willing to take the chance of just handing over your power to others, just because they are perceived as more knowledgable than you on certain subjects? We do know that truths change through history and whether they are truths or not in any given moment depend on a vast range of societal and political aspects, norms and general paradigms.
I invite you to ask yourself what your motives are for doing all the things you do in your life. Allowing all the things you allow. Question for what reason. Then dig into the roots and feelings that lie underneath your answers.
Our whole society is build upon us getting graded, judged by others, competing with each other to have an external evaluation of ourselves. We are born into systems that tell us to look outside of ourselves for answers, on all the questions that rise through a human being’s life span. In the process we don’t even think about asking the only one who can give us a fulfilling true answer. Ourselves. We haven’t ever got the practice and training to trust our inner voice. We are steered away from our own inner knowing. Isn’t that a pity. We unconsciously raise generation upon generation in systems that support the disempowerment of human beings.
And if we may catch ourselves in thinking these thoughts, reaching a point where we feel that we aren’t as happy, healthy and fulfilled as we wanted to be, and start asking questions, whos answers range from sad, to upsetting to deeply disturbing..., then who’s responsible? The government? The school? The health system? Society? Our family and friends? Even if any of these were to claim some responibility or ownership for things getting out of hand, what would that help you?
What if the journey was about playing, learning, exploring, testing ourselves, disclosing our own perceived limits to open up even more, sharing, supporting each other, finding our joys and maybe our deeper purpose along the way, if we have one. What if...and we for some reason just went along with all the BS because everyone else did.
It’s up to you and me, us, to call the illusion. We are the only ones to take responsibility for our lives, hopefully with the support, love and kindness from those around us, of course. But in the end, the only thing that really matters is each human being’s decision to stand in his/her courage, power and integrity and establish new meaning and reason for doing the things we do.
It’s about what you choose to invest time and energy on and act upon. Talking about the days that passed only leaves sadness and a feeling of being cheated in this life. And when you suddenly understand that the one cheated you was yourself, the grief gets even stronger.
Change happens in the moment you feel truth in your heart and have the guts to act upon it.
It either is or is not.
Either you do it or you don’t.
Change happens instantly, the process of how all shall fall into place, happens after, not before. Before is only fear, doubt and procrastination. Which is also a choice, just as worthy as any other. Just don’t cheat yourself. Noone will apologize to you, and even if you got an apology, that wouldn’t fix it.
Whatever you choose in this free-will zone of the Universe, on this beautiful Planet Earth, noone will judge you, it YOUR ride. It is your birth right and priviliage. Be proud, embrace and honor it.
Just be sure you are conscious of that and don’t live under the illusion that you don’t have a choice and thereby give your power away to others.
It all starts with you. And what a blessing that is. You don’t have to wait for anyone <3
